NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka are on January 30, 2018, expected to be ‘sworn in’ as ‘People’s President’ and ‘Deputy People’s president’ respectively.

A section of NASA supports in Kisumu City who spoke to Hivisasa.com on Monday said they two leaders have to take the oath at ‘any cost’ since they believe they won the August 8th presidential election.

“Being sworn in is the only way of breaking rigging cycle in this country. They must be sworn in. That is what we want,” said a NASA supporter who requested to remain anonymous.

“Odinga’s long-awaited swearing in is not his will but the will of the people. We have been denied justice. We did not vote for Uhuru Kenyatta as the President. This is so because the number of people who came out to vote during the October 26 repeat presidential election was extremely small compared to those who turned out to vote on August 8, 2017,” said George Ouma.

A section of politicians in NASA maintains that Odinga must be sworn in claiming that he won the August 8th general elections. However, President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner.

NASA went to the Supreme Court, a move which saw Kenyatta’s win annulled. The Supreme Court then ordered a fresh presidential election, but Odinga withdrew less than two weeks to the election.
