A section of National Super Alliance (Nasa) supporters in Kisii county have threatened to surrender to various police stations. This is in protest for the 'unnecessary' arrests of the leaders allied to opposition's outfit.Led by Sam Okeyo, the residents said should the government continue arresting NASA leaders, they will have no option but to surrender to police stations as a show of solidarity."Now that media stations are down below Matiangi's feet, Makadara MP George Aladwa, TJ Kwajwang and Miguna Miguna have so far been arrested without clear reasons, we will be forced to ask supporters across the county to surrender to the nearest police station in solidarity with out leaders," said Okeyo. He further accused Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i for using excessive force to intimidate opposition leaders."Matiang'i should use his powers well and not intimidating leaders with unnecessary arrests. We have criminals such as Al Shabaab terrorists who police should fight not leaders who were elected to serve their people," Okeyo noted.Another resident, James Ongeri, asked security apparatus not to allow to be used in blackmailing opposition leaders."Some orders should not be followed for the sake of peace in this country. Police should stop being used to intimidate elected leaders," he said.
