Police have accused NASA coalition leaders of supplying illegal substance to their supporters as a way of preparing them for protests that have turned violent in various parts of the country.
Police spokesman Charles Owino has also claimed that the leaders were ferrying groups of people into demonstrations while under the command of being violent as a way of ensuring there are confrontations with the police.
"They are giving people chang'aa (illicit liquor), bhang and alcohol before the demonstrations. Some like in Siaya where I come from are told to go and fight,"
"There are a number who ferry groups to specific areas to engage in violence so that when one of them is killed it becomes a confrontation with the police," said Mr Owino during an phone conversation on KTN News.
Mr Owino's remarks come at a time when there are protests in major towns in Kenya by NASA coalition supporters who will this week take tried grievance kn electoral processes on the streets demanding for reforms.
Mr Owino however noted that there are no police officers who are mad to just shoot and kill innocent people saying officers act in accordance to guidelines of the law.
