He maintains that they will continue to ask supporters to remain at the polling stations to 'protect'votes during the polling day [Citizen digital].Nasa has defended its move to ask supporters to remain within the precincts of the polling stations to 'protect the votes' on polling day saying it is a constitutional right.Speaking to Citizen TV on Wednesday, Cord secretarial CEO Norman Magaya, said that the constitution under Article 10 allows public participation and that is what Nasa is exactly asking its supporters to do."Why will anyone fear a citizen being there as part of a wider concept that is enshrined in our values in the constitution under Article 10 that provides for public participation, transparency and accountability? This is a constitutionally guaranteed value and principle and NASA isn't begging for it," said Magaya on Cheche show.He stated Nasa won't buy the idea of keeping away voters away from the polling stations as a security measure saying that is the avenue Jubilee intends to use to rig elections."Elections do not belong to the security officers and the IEBC. They belong to the citizens and that is why it is only wise they go home after votes have been tallied and results announced. Nasa intends to make the exercise as participatory as possible and that is the only to ensure the election is peaceful," said Magaya.
