There was confusion in the National Super Alliance (Nasa) coalition Tuesday afternoon after a key meeting scheduled by coalition principals failed to materialise with no one giving an explanation.
However, sources within the coalition said that the meeting could not materialise due to the absence of Wiper and Ford Kenya leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula respectively.
Musyoka had on Sunday hinted at giving the meeting a wide berth after he said he would be flying to Dubai on Monday before jetting back in for a NASA rally schedualed for Friday.
He however flew to the Middle Eastern country on Monday and is expected back on Thursday.
Wetangula had on the other hand informed his co-principals that he would be in Mombasa for the ongoing Legislative Summit on devolution.
It was Mudavadi who disclosed to the public that the meeting could not take place because of its key members being held up elsewhere.
“Today (Tuesday), it is only the National Co-ordinating Committee that is meeting,” said Mudavadi.
“We trust they will find the way forward as soon as possible,” he added.
Should NASA talks to form a joint approach to the next elections collapse, Jubilee will have State House to lose as they control a large portion of the electorate.
