The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has threatened to boycott the August 8 elections.

They said there will be no elections, if an appeal filed by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), is accepted.

Through chairman Wafula Chebukati, IEBC wants the Appellate Court to overturn a High court ruling which says presidential election results announced at the constituency level, should be final.

IEBC wants the results be declared final, by its chairman. According to the agency, the Constitution allows it to declare all winners during elections.

However, Nasa principals are opposed to this. They said IEBC's plot was to rig, and would not allow the close, overturned.

"There will be no election in August, if the Court changes the close. Presidential election results should be declared by the Retuning Officers at the Constituency level, since they are mandated constitutionally. There's no bargaining about that,'' said Rail Odinga, the Nasa presidential candidate.

Speaking during Nasa first rally at Nakuru's Afraha stadium, Sunday, co-principal Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, Isaac Ruto and Raila's running mate Kalonzo Musyoka echoed the sentiments, saying Nasa would not be part of an already rigged election.

They threatened to take to streets, to protest the ruling, if IEBC wins in the Court petition.

"There will be protests in Nakuru, Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa and all over the country, if the Court accepts the appeal. Be ready for this,'' Raila told supporters.

He urged Nakuru residents to be ready, if called upon, to take to the streets to protest should the ruling be overturned.
