The 'Nasa Tibiim' song composer Joseph Onyango Ochieng alias Onyi Jalamo has dismissed reports going round on social media alleging he was murdered moments after gracing the installation of Raila Odinga as the National Super Alliance presidential candidate.
Speaking to journalists at Busia Green Gardens, Wednesday, Jalamo, said the source of his 'death' came from Facebook with the writer traced to Mandera KDF camp via True caller.
"I am not the only person who has been 'killed' by social media. People have been "dying" through social media. I am one of a million people who have 'died' through such posts on social media. I have left God to deal with my 'killer'. The only step I took was to report the matter to the police. Investigations are still in process," Jalamo said.
The 32-year-old song composer noted that the news had affected him and his family psychologically.
"When I went home I was met with sad faces of my parents and relatives "mourning my death,” he said.
He also refuted claims that he had received Sh5 million from Raila after composing the song, praising the Opposition alliance.
"Raila does not even know me contrary to claims. Nasa's motto is to liberate Kenyans. I hope they will be candid enough to reward me for the song."
