The National Super Alliance (NASA) will be fielding a single candidate for each elective post in Nairobi, the city's governor Evans Kidero has said.

Kidero revealed the coalition affiliates from Wiper, ANC, ODM and Ford Kenya had agreed to back a single candidate for each seat from the MCA and governor positions.

He added that this was meant to ensure the opposition coalition gets as many seats in the capital as possible in the August 8 polls.

"It has already been agreed upon that Nairobi will conduct joint nominations and that we will have one candidate from the coalition in every position," he said.

He said that the opposition had lost many seats to Jubilee during the 2013 general elections because of fielding multiple candidates by the affiliate parties.

His Cord coalition scooped 7 of the 17 seats available in Nairobi.
