Supporters of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) in Eldoret will on Monday take to the streets to demonstrate against the IEBC, a senior ODM official has revealed.David Songok who is the Uasin Gishu ODM chairman, said Thursday that they would organize the peaceful protests to show solidarity with their fellow supporters across the country, who have been holding weekly demonstrations against a section of poll officials they accuse of bungling the August 8 polls."On Monday, we will hold a very big peaceful demonstration here in Eldoret to call for the exit of a section of Iebc officials. We've been holding various meetings and we've seen it fit to call for the said protests on Monday in line with our coalition's directive," he said.Songok dispelled claims that the area was a Jubilee stronghold, maintaining that Nasa had close to 1 million supporters a majority of which actually voted for Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga, but his votes were stolen. This is likely to be the first demonstrations in the town which is the home to Deputy President William Ruto even as Nasa announced that from next week they would be holding daily peaceful demonstrations until the Iebc conducts reforms as they have been demanding.
