Opposition outfit NASA is set to recruit top lawyers each from the 47 counties, a number that will be equivalent to electoral body IEBC County Returning Officers.
The team legal team will be headed by Raila Odinga’s top legal advisor Paul Mwangi to whom they will brief all legal perspectives in regard to opposition campaigns.
Also, the 47 recruits will further station more lawyers with each representing a constituency and will be tasked to monitor NASA campaigns besides defending NASA rights in court whenever necessary.
They are expected to rush to court to challenge any illegalities committed by returning officers, presiding officers and Jubilee campaigners in their respective constituencies.
“They will be ready to rush to court and defend Raila’s rights whenever they are infringed upon,” says Paul Mwangi.
According to ODM’s director of campaigns Junnet Mohammed, who also seats in NASA presidential campaigns, Mwangi’s team will ensure IEBC and Jubilee does not engage in any malpractice.
“Our lawyers and IT experts will be stationed in every constituency to ensure IEBC and Jubilee does not play games with our votes,” he said.
