Kiminini MP and Minority whip in the National Assembly Chris Wamalwa has said that parliament will reject the nominees that President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated for Chief Administrative officers (CAS).

Speaking in a Funeral in Matunda, Kakamega, he said that the positions are equivalent to Assistant Ministers, a dispensation that went with the old Constitution.

He said the President has violated the constitution in trying to sneak back the positions and must have a re- look or the list faces rejection.

“The positions went with the old Constitution. The President should re-look at his list before sending it to Parliament for vetting, otherwise we will reject the nominees,” said Wamalwa.

He also faulted the President of not achieving not only the two third gender rule but also non inclusion of Youths and people living with disabilities.

President Kenyatta had on Friday nominated former MPs Ababu Namwamba as CAS Foreign Affairs, Rachael Shebesh as CAS Public Service, Ken Obura as CAS EAC, Former Governor Kachapin as CAS Education and Gideon Mung’aro as CAS for Lands among others.

Wamalwa said that the appointments will only increase the public wage bill and have no value in the cabinet.
