Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the National Super Alliance (NASA) has plans to sue the Jubilee leadership for selling government branded maize ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking in Mombasa on Friday, Kalonzo, also former vice President, said that the government is not supposed to sell any branded commodity to citizens of this country as it is being witnessed under the Jubilee regime.
The Ukambani political kingpin said that the citizens of this nation are entitled to walk with the flour from the government without having to pay for the same as it is being witnessed.
“Kenyans are free to walk into the supermarket and take the maize flour without paying because that is the property of the Kenyan government, which is not supposed to be sold,” Kalonzo said, as quoted by The Star.
The NASA deputy president candidate revealed that he has talked to other leaders within the alliance to file a case against the Jubilee administration.
“I have talked to my friend Senior Counsel James Orengo (Siaya senator) and our brother Hassan Joho (Mombasa governor) and we are planning to sue Jubilee for misuse of the official government stamp and seal,” he added.
The maize shortage in the country has continued to elicit mixed reactions from Jubilee and NASA leaders.
