NASA’ top leadership has been put under pressure from the clerics to call off their planned weekly peaceful demonstrations against IEBC and instead follow the set constitutional procedures to solve their discontent.
According to Seventh-day clerics, the Raila Odinga led team should ensure that they embrace dialogue which has already been initiated by both church leaders across the country and the IEBC as demonstrations may land the country into deep chaos.
According to Nyaguta SDA Church priest Evans Nyamoko, the current political tension being witnessed in the country may sabotage economy and peace.
“NASA’s leader Raila Odinga should put the country’s peace first before calling for countrywide demonstrations that will likely result in violence as the church and IEBC are ready to initiate the talks,” said Nyamoko.
Speaking at Nyaguta church grounds after having a holy communion the cleric feared the demonstrations may fuel endless fights from both political sides hence a possibility of October, 26 polls may be impossible.
This comes barely as the demonstrations organized by NASA are set to kick off on Monday and will be carried each Monday and Friday until the reforms are done.
