City Members of County Assembly (MCAs) affiliated to NASA now wants a special sitting to discuss the fallout between county boss Mike Sonko and his deputy Polycarp Igathe.
Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok said the Opposition leader in the House will today (Friday) deliver the letter asking for the special sitting to the Speaker Beatrice Elachi.
Imwatok termed Igathe's resignation as 'extra-ordinary' occurrence which the House must deliberate on and look for the way forward.
"It is a matter of concern for Nairobi people and for the country because Igathe was not elected by the governor but together with him by the people of Nairobi," the Minority Whip told the Nation.
As he spoke, a number MCAs have thrown their weight behind Sonko saying the departure of his deputy won't affect his agenda for the city residents.
"We are ready to support any proposal the governor puts forward. It will not deter the governor's agenda for the Nairobi people," said John Kamau, the Deputy Speaker.
Igathe resigned a week ago claiming he has failed to win the trust of his boss.
