The national government has warned the Opposition NASA against holding rallies, meetings or events that are unlawful.Speaking at the KICC, Nairobi on Thursday, government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe said the Opposition should ensure their activities are constitutional, failure to which they shall face penalties.Kiraithe also said that the NASA MCAs who passed the motion of People's Assembly in their respective county assemblies will be surcharged for misusing public funds.“It is my hope that those MCAs who wasted public resources to pass those motions would be surcharged for using public resources for private activities. Your freedom of assembly is in the constitution. You can sit with your friends anywhere and even declare yourself the Pope, but using public resources to pass things which are not covered anywhere will not be allowed,” Kiraithe said according to Citizen DigitalThis comes after the opposition and its supporters threatened to swear in Hon. Raila Odinga even after the Supreme Court upheld President Kenyatta's second win.Kenyatta will be sworn in on Tuesday November 28 at the Kasarani Stadium.
