Opposition coalition NASA has maintained that they will have former Prime Minister Raila Odinga sworn in as President.

Speaking on Sunday, NASA luminaries led by Siaya Senator James Orengo asserted that they will not be cowed by threats by the state over their plans to swear in Raila.

“They say we cannot swear in Raila, but we are telling them we will bring forward the plan to do so soon," Orengo remarked.

Orengo's remarks were reiterated by ODM chief executive director Oduor Ongwen who announced that plans for swearing in Mr Odinga at a national gathering had already been finalised.

“We will swear him in, whether they like it or not. We will do it at a national gathering where he will take the reins of power immediately,” he said.

On his part, Mr Odinga insisted that nobody can stop him from taking oath of office, despite NASA shelving an earlier decision to have him inaugurated on December 12.

“Nobody will stop me from lifting the Bible,” Raila vowed during a NASA convention in Kilifi on Sunday.
