NASA will address tea and dairy farmers’ plight and revert the management of land to counties from the national government should they win August 8 polls.
According to Raila Odinga, his administration will improve the tea and milk earnings for the benefit of the people of Rift Valley.
Speaking in Bureti, Kapkatet stadium Odinga said tea and milk prices will improve, education from standard one to form four will be free under a NASA government.
He urged residents to vote for opposition as the only change that will bring down the cost of living.
The ODM leader was accompanied by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto who said land lease under the multinational tea estates will expire in 2020.
Ruto said land should be reverted to be managed by the county governments.
“A Nasa government will have the National cake shared out with the counties. 45% of revenue collected will be given to the counties,” Ruto said.
The CCM party leader added that it was necessary for more resources to be devolved to the counties to bring more services near to the people.
