Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi has supported formation of National Super Alliance (NASA) to dislodge President Uhuru Kenyatta from power in 2017.
Memusi notes that NASA is the only vehicle that can defeat Jubilee in the 2017 general elections.
Speaking in Kajiado on Friday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker said that the Maa community will support proposals for formation of NASA that will defeat Jubilee in 2017.
“Kenyans are tired of poor leadership, corruption, marginalization of some communities and tribalism perpetuated by the Jubilee administration,” he claimed.
The MP accused the Jubilee government of condoning corruption, alleging massive graft in government is an indication of poor leadership by the Jubilee government.
The Kajiado central MP urged locals not to be swayed by the Jubilee government, noting that the region is an opposition stronghold.
Plans by the opposition to form NASA are said to be in top gear. Last week, Cord leader Raila Odinga is said to have sealed the NASA deal with Amani leader Musalia Mudavadi who is pushing for the formation of the Alliance.
According to Mudavadi, Jubilee will win in 2017 if the opposition fails to unite and work together.
Sources close to top opposition leaders claim that NASA could be unveiled by early next year, with a committee of experts said to have been formed to spearhead formation and unveiling of the Super Alliance.
The Jubilee government has however dismissed NASA claiming it will not pose a threat to re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017.
Speaking in Bomet on Saturday, President Kenyatta laughed of the oppositions, asking Kenyans to ignore it.
Among top politicians said to be engaged in the NASA talks is Kanu Party chairman Gideon Moi, Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Rutto, Narc leader Charity Ngilu and Chama Cha Uzalendo leader Wavinya Ndeti.
The opposition is also said to have reached out to business tycoons and civil society groups as it charts way of dislodging Jubilee government from power in next year’s general elections.
