The 2017 presidential flag-bearer of the National Super Alliance (NASA) will not run for office again in 2022, sources aware of the negotiations among principals say.Instead, the 2017 flag-bearer will endorse another NASA principal, says Lugari MP Ayub Savula, an ally of Musalia Mudavadi. NASA is expected to announce the Opposition flag-bearer and his running mate at Uhuru Park on Thursday. “The move is meant to correct mistakes made by the Jubilee administration and return the country to the path of growth,” Mr Savula said, as quoted by The Star. Sources told The Star that after a report by a technical committee on how to pick a presidential flag-bearer threatened to break the coalition, the principals have now sought the services of hired experts in coming up with the candidate who will face Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta. “The experts are helping our bosses reorganise the government and pick a flag-bearer,” a source told The Star. The agreement among the principals will be deposited at the Registrar of Political Parties before announcing the flag-bears on Thursday.
