Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has received a major backing from opposition coalition despite the ongoing intrigues within City Hall.
Last Friday, Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe resigned from the lucrative job citing 'frustrations and lack of trust' from his boss.
And outspoken Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is the first opposition politician to back the estranged governor.
"Leaders are chosen by God. Nairobians should give Mike Sonko time to deliver," wrote Owino on his Facebook.
On Monday, Sonko ruled out dialogue with his deputy, insisting that he will work with elected leaders from across the political divide.
"I have professors and technocrats surrounding me and that means work shall continue as usual," he said.
