Lee Kinyanjui said Thursday that Nasa had embraced corrupt individuals to finance their campaigns a move he said would greatly cripple the war against corruption since the same cartels would start demanding kickbacks in case they emerge victorious in the August 8 polls."Our opponents in Nasa have since embraced corrupt cartels to finance their campaigns through choppers and funds provision.However it won't be long before these same cartels start demanding for kickbacks should they win," he said.Kinyanjui was speaking during a debate for the country's gubernatorial candidates at Egerton University.About a month ago deputy president William Ruto told off the opposition to stop acting holy on matters corruption saying they were a direct beneficiary of individuals who had swindled the country of millions through various graft scandals."They have accused us that we are corrupt. They have no moral authority to point fingers at us.""The entire NASA campaigns including choppers and secretariats is financed by corruption cartels including beneficiaries of Anglo leasing," Ruto had claimed.However, Nasa through its running mate Kalonzo Musyoka dismissed the claims by Ruto saying they were insincere and aimed at saving face.
