NASA leadership seems set to return to the streets next year, as they push the government to have a dialogue sitting.

In a New Year message from the opposition leader Raila Odinga, the coalition will not relent in their push to have a dialogue with President Kenyatta.

The recent return of NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka seems to have rejuvenated the Opposition, as they continued for electoral and constitutional reforms.

Musyoka, who spoke after getting into the country from Germany, said they will form a parallel government if their calls for dialogue will not be heard.

And in their message, which was published in the Standard, the coalition will not let it go easily.

“We are ready for dialogue as long as these issues are on the table. Alternatively, we take the issues to the people and let them decide without the involvement of the State,” he said in the message.

The coalition has continued to push for the alleged reforms, adding that the October elections in which President Kenyatta won by a landslide were unfair.

NASA withdrew from the elections citing with a week to the poll day, saying IEBC was not prepared to conduct a repeat election.

The coalition had earlier successfully petitioned the Supreme Court challenging the August win, with the highest court nullifying the results.

NASA leader Raila Odinga had threatened to swear himself in as the people’s president, but the planned were shelved a day to the planned date.

With many supporters already giving up on the push, it will be interesting to see how the new year turns for the opposition.
