Although he supported NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga in August, Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng’eno could after all back President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection bid in October.
Ng’eno was one of the lead campaign figures for Odinga in South Rift and was working closely with the quiet Ex-Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto.
Elected on a KANU ticket, Ng’eno is now likely to work with his boss Gideon Moi, who maintains that the party will back Uhuru in the presidential rerun this October.
“He may not be in good terms with DP William Ruto but he is likely to support the common position of the party which is in public domain,” says Gideon Mamboleo.
He further says:”this will be in preparation for his party leader to take a major political storm towards 2022 elections. He has no option other than backing Uhuru.”
Already, Moi has maintained that he will ensure Rift Valley votes Uhuru adding that he is firmly in race for 2022 polls.
At South Rift, Ng’eno is a valuable leader given his command among the Kalenjin and Maasai communities.
