The opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA) has reignited its push for a new election.

According to the alliance strategist David Ndii, the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led block is committed to ensuring that a new presidential poll is held before the end of the year.

Ndii was speaking at the Okoa Kenya offices in Lavington Nairobi Wednesday, where he added that the alliance will hold its inaugural People's Assembly convention at the end of this month to lay out a grand plan in line with the bid.

''The People's Assembly will culminate into a presidential election not later than August 2018,'' Ndii is quoted by the Star.

Also set to be discussed is the possibility of pushing the government into adopting a parliamentary government system.

This, according to NASA, is aimed at re-introducing currently non-existent executive positions like the Prime Minister's office, in line with its push for a more inclusive leadership.

The meeting which is will be preceded by a series of meeting's in the Kisii, Rift Valley, Central and North Eastern regions, will also bring under discussion calls for self-declaration from the Coastal Counties.

The alliance is yet to concede defeat in the concluded August 8 poll and its October 26 repeat, maintaining that it was rigged out.
