The stand-off between NASA MPs and their Jubilee Party counterparts continued on Thursday, after, the opposition MPs said they will not vet the list of CSs that will be presented to parliament.

Led by Minority Leader John Mbadi, the coalition told the House Clerk Michael Sialai that they could not provide names of their MPs to sit in the committee on appointments as they do not recognize President Kenyatta’s presidency.

“I decline to make proposals for the appointment to the Committee on Appointment until the office of the appointing authority, the presidency, will be occupied substantively,” said Mbadi.

Mbadi was responding to a letter by the Clerk asking him to propose names present names of those who will sit on the committee.

NASA coalition has said they will not approve of President Kenyatta’s win, and their efforts are considered a way of paralyzing operations.

President Kenyatta was sworn in on Tuesday at the Moi Kasarani, after a gruelling battle in a two-rounded contest against NASA.

Raila Odinga, NASA candidate in the elections withdrew in the second election, citing lack of unpreparedness by the IEBC.

However, the elections were conducted and President Kenyatta won the return election by a landslide.
