NASA coalition has urged the coastal region to turn out in large numbers in August to vote for the opposition alliance.
The alliance’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka lamented that the area has not been turning out in large numbers during elections.
The two leaders further said that there must be a change of attitude if they were to realize their dreams of sending home the Jubilee coalition.
Musyoka noted that the region has been registering a low voter turnout of less than 60 percent on voting days.
“This must change this time round, so you can help us send Jubilee home,” Kalonzo said.
He added: “Jubilee still does not have support of this region even after buying a few leaders,”
The leaders addressed rallies in Mtwapa, Gnze, Magarini, and Malindi, where they promised to implement the Truth and Justice and Reconciliation Commission report.
The leaders further took issue with the ruling Jubilee Coalition, after they attacked the Judiciary over alleged favoritism of the opposition coalition.
Both the Jubilee and Nasa coalition have been in a battle for the coast region vote, a regions considered the opposition’s stronghold.
