Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has dismissed critics questioning NASA’s push for the creation of people’s assemblies.Muthama said the opposition’s push for the assemblies is provided for under article one of the constitution.According to the former Wiper senator, the constitution gives the people power to speak and decide for themselves when they feel neglected, discriminated, abandoned and marginalised by the government.In an interview with the Standard on Sunday, Muthama said critics will not prevent or silence NASA from pushing its reforms agenda forward.Muthama blamed theJubilee government for the state of political confusion and electoral injustice in the country.“Jubilee politicians and their sympathisers should know that our (NASA) quest for electoral reforms is unstoppable and we will use constitutional means to ensure electoral justice,” said Muthama.Muthama at the same time rubbished claims that NASA is inciting Kenyans and creating rebellion in the country.He said Kenyans are tired of the Jubilee regime and are yearning for change.NASA politicians have been on the spot with a section politicians allied to the Jubilee Party accusing them of using unconstitutional means to push their agenda.
