Opposition coalition NASA will frustrate elections in its perceived strongholds should IEBC fail to cancel October 26th elections, Siaya Governor Amoth Rasanga has revealed.

With Odinga having bolted out of the elections, IEBC has remained unmoved over the scheduled date, even with pressure to cancel the polls to allow more reforms within the commission continues.

At Mombasa on Sunday, Rasanga said the plan would delegitimize elections by rendering them null and void.

“Supreme Court gives strict instructions that illegalities and irregularities ought to be rectified but so far nothing has happened,” he said.

Rasanga added: “We shall ensure no voting takes place in our strongholds and the repercussions are known. They better allow reforms.”

Already, IEBC has raised concerns over the security of its officials even as the commission is said to have received resignation letters from a section of Returning Officers from NASA strongholds.

Constitutionally, elections should take place in all constituencies across the country in compliance with article 138(2).
