The NASA coalition’s swearing-in plans has been hit by a major hurdle, with reports that their first choice ground has been booked.
Two groups have reportedly applied the use of Nairobi’s Uhuru Park, a venue that the coalition had planned to use.
According to the reports, a church and a group posing as the Nairobi business community have applied to use the ground on January 30 the same date that NASA plan to swear in Odinga.
The Opposition has been pushing for dialogue with the ruling Jubilee coalition, a call they held during their two rallies in Machakos on Friday and in Mombasa on Sunday.
The leaders pitched camp in Mombasa on Sunday, where they lashed out at Jubilee Party for being in office ‘illegally’.
They said they were not stopping at anything in their quest to have the legitimate government in power, saying they won the August 8 elections.
President Kenyatta, leading his Jubilee side, has insisted that he will not dialogue with the opposition on matters political, saying the chapter is closed as far as he is concerned.
Foreign envoys have been pushing for dialogue between Odinga and Kenyatta, saying the current standoff might be detrimental in the long run.
