Nakuru Small Traders Association chairman Simon ole Nasieku gave his blessings for the relocation of traders from the town's central business district two years ago, deputy Governor Joseph Ruto has revealed.
Speaking on Radio Citizen Tuesday night, Ruto said Nasieku who has now become the hardest critic of the county government owing to the relocation, was fully funded for a benchmarking trip to Rwanda.
"Ole Nasieku was part of our delegation to Rwanda and the county government fully funded his trip so that he could learn how the Rwandese traders were going about their business," he said.
He added that for chairman to turn around and lambast the county government when he himself he was party to the relocation plan amounts to betrayal.
Nasieki has been at the forefront in castigating the Governor Kinuthia Mbugua led administration over what he terms as harassment of hawkers.
