Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir has warned that President Uhuru Kenyatta shall take greatest responsibility should any ‘misfortune’ happen to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.
Nassir also urged President Kenyatta to be ‘tolerant’ and face politics with soberness by allowing people to support political parties of their choice.
The two governors reportedly had their security details withdrawn even though the government has remained silent over the issue.
“I want to remind the nation that Uhuru should take greatest responsibility should any misfortune happen to our governors,” he said on Saturday during a press conference.
He added: “We are living in a liberal nation where political choices of people should be respected. You don’t have to punish someone just because he reads from a different political script.”
Last week, Joho criticised the president for allegedly commissioning ‘old projects’ funded by previous government, remarks which were supported by Kingi.
