The Nation Media Group and the University of Nairobi have expressed their intentions to make the most of their long-term partnership to foster change in society.
UoN Vice-Chancellor Prof Peter Mbithi and Nation Media Group CEO Stephen Gitagama had a meeting at the former’s office and declared their willingness to ensure that the partnership continues flourishing having been in effect since 2017.
Gitagama said they intend to grow the partnerships to a higher level in the coming years.
“Our collaboration especially in the National Leadership Forum series has particularly been effective in highlighting issues that affect the country at large, and have called to attention authorities responsible for addressing these issues,” said Mr. Gitagama.
Prof Mbithi sees the potential in the partnership catalyzing national development through its forums that have been organized from time to time.
“We intend to apply the synergies from both our sides to ensure discussions that touch on the well-being of our country are successfully disseminated to the public and also the government, so that those that should be addressed with immediacy, are,” said Prof Mbithi.
The partnership focuses on encouraging dialogue and conversations on key issues affecting the country.
It remains to be seen how effectively the deal works out to successfully propagate their mandate.
