The Anglican Church of Kenya in Ndenderu, Kiambu county has called upon the national government to take back all grabbed public land.

Speaking in the church, the regional Secretary General Mr. Morris Kamau said that the government was not putting enough measures to curb land grabbing as individuals were still grabbing public land. He said that it was the responsibility of the government to protect the environment.

He said that recently, an individual in Ndenderu had grabbed public land and even fenced it yet it was also a path residents used to pass and now its closed. He said that such individuals are greedy and that if the country is serious about the issues of corruption and greed, it has to start with such individuals.

The Secretary General revealed that land grabbers oppress the poor in the society which shouldn't be the case. He said the government should fulfil its obligation of protecting these kind of people who at most times are not regarded to have a voice in the community because they are poor.
