Festus Kinyua, a Machangaa resident, said the company needed to act fast since this is exposing residents to preventable water-borne diseases.

“I have seen women and children blindly fetching water in leaking pipes. This is very dangerous since the water may get contaminated hence water-borne diseases,” said Kinyua.

Violent Ngera, a student, said water shortage in the area has led them to fetch the dirty water.

“We are aware that the water is contaminated but currently we do not have an option,” said Ngera.

She added that they are boiling the water before drinking to avoid diseases.

“If they can repair the damaged pipes, we can solve the water shortage problem as well as they can help us to live healthy lives,” she said.

Some of the most affected areas in Nakuru include Manyani, Kisulisuli and Machangaa.
