Following the torrential rains pounding Nyamira county, farmers and traders in Makairo region of Bogichora ward now want the tea buying center access roads in the area repaired.
According to some of the farmers in the area, there have been growing fears among the group that their tea which is worth hundreds of shillings might go to waste in the area due to poor road network.
According to Erick Mochache, a resident from the area, they are not getting to the tea buying center at ease due to the poor road network that is in the area.
Another farmer Irene Nyanchabera said the most affected tea buying centers include Ibucha and Makairo which they really struggle to use since the roads are impassable.
Consequently picking tea from the centers has been a problem because the tea trucks can't access them especially on the rainy days.
They are now calling on governor John Nyagarama to urgently repair the crucial roads to boost agriculture and trade in the region.
