National Construction Authority (NCA) Director in charge of Standards, Engineer Crispinus Ndinyo has said that contractors who defy construction rules and regulations will be dealt with legally.
Speaking in Nakuru on Tuesday during sensitisation workshop Ndinyo warned contractors against using sub standard materials in their work.
Ndinyo said constructors must observe construction guidelines as laid down by NCA.
"All the buildings that we have put an 'X' mark will not be constructed further till the time contractor will fulfill the agreement we have with them,” said Ndinyo.
Ndinyo cautioned the contractors against disobeying the NCA saying that they risk being arrested, demoted or loosing their licences.
On the other hand emerging contractors who are attending the workshop decried discrimination by the banks while looking for loans and now want NCA to form a banking arm where they can be borrowing money with less tussles.
