The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) said has only five police officers to deal with hate mongers across the country.
Commission chairman Francis Ole Kaparo made the shocking revelations on Monday during a breakfast show on Nation FM.
While responding to claims that the commission was overwhelmed by cases of hate speech, the former National Assembly speaker concurred that lack of enough personnel had greatly dampened their work.
He, however, added they have applied to the CID department to have more officers allocated to them to help stem hate speech.
Majority of Kenyans have raised concern over the manner in which NCIC conducts its work.
