The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in conjunction with Inter-peace Organization held the Mandera County Stakeholders' Forum.

The three-day forum commenced Wednesday to Friday with aims to ensure peaceful coexistence among communities in Mandera County.

It brought together leaders from across the County and cohesion and integration stakeholders.

The forum was graced by NCIC Commission secretary Hassan Mohammed Sheikh, Inter-peace Regional Director for Eastern and Central Africa, Johan Svensson, Mandera governor Ali Roba, senator Billow Kerrow and Members of Parliament from the County.

This even as governor Roba decried that insecurity, saying it had continued to hamper the County's development.

Citing frequent attacks by Al-Shaabab militants, Roba said the terrorists have successfully managed to isolate Mandera from the rest of the Country and that they are now targeting non locals to scare them aware.

He called on the national government to ensure security in the North Eastern County is heightened for all-around development.
