The two areas were heavily affected by recent anti-IEBC demonstrations with incidents of property destruction and deaths occurring.

The recent anti-IEBC protests by the opposition left at least six people dead and a trail of destruction in some parts of the country.

Kibra and Mathare experienced high cases of property looting and destruction.

The commission in conjunction with the National Steering Committee on Peace building and conflict management announced it will meet youth in Kibra on Tuesday to sensitise them on peaceful coexistence and cohesion among different communities living in the area.

The meeting will also act as a preventive measure to avert escalation of potential conflict.

The commission will hold similar meetings in Kisumu on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
