National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairman Francis ole Kaparo has said the Commission will launch a probe into the hate speech audio clip that has been linked to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
In an interview with the Star, Kaparo said the investigations will be aimed at determining the truthfulness of the audio clip.
"We have dispatched our detectives to establish where the audio was recorded and advise on further action," said Kaparo.
He added that action will be taken against the Garissa Township MP if found culpable.
"We have prosecuted such cases. Of course if evidence points to anyone, the person must be handled as per what the law stipulates on incitement," he said, as quoted by the daily.
This comes after Kenyans called for the arrest of Duale following the release of the audio clip doing rounds on social, where a person said to be Duale, is heard inciting youth in Garissa against Kambas and Wiper Party supporters in the region.
Duale, however, dismissed the claims, saying that was not his voice.
“An audio clip in circulation online is fake and crude propaganda. It is the work of a bygone era politician attempting to cook fake news,” wrote Duale on his Twitter account.
