The NCIC proposes an amendment to electoral laws to allow IEBC have powers to prevent any individual accused of spreading hate from contesting for an elective position.

The commission argues that elected leaders are spewing hate messages to seek milage for them to be re-elected to their position.

The proposal comes when the country has been marred by a series of hate utterances from politicians across the political divide.
