Over 500 farmers, who on Wednesday stormed NCPB premises, said the board has not paid them more than Sh300 million.

“We have been reduced to beggars because the board has not paid us for more than 3 months now. We want our dues so that we can plan for planting failure to which we will paralyze operations at the offices until we get justice,” said one of the farmers identified as Bonny Njoroge.

The growers urged Nakuru County governor to intervene and push for their pay.

"We are appealing to Governor Lee Kinyanjui to come into our rescue so that NCPB can release our money. No one from the board has come out to explain to us why the money has been delayed for this long,” said Miriam Nyagah.

She said they are depending on the money to buy seeds and fertilizers to plant this season.
