Ndeiya County MCA, Nelson Munga, has emphasised on the economic strength that would come from the generation of wind energy at the 'Mwanya wa Ruhuho' point in the ward.
Munga said the strong wind in the area has for long seen as a curse and nuisance by locals, since it has for many times blown away their properties.
“I look forward to the day wind energy will be generated from the strong winds blowing in the area,” said Munga.
Many are times during events held in the ward, tents put up to shelter people from the scorching sun are brought down by the area's strong wind.
Recently, wind disrupted Cardinal John Njue's meeting in the area.
visited the area, the event was disrupted for some time as men brought down to prevent a disaster in waiting of the tents falling on people.
“This is not unusual. Strong winds are the order of the day. The good thing is that the temperatures are high and so the wind and sun, hence balancing each other,” said Peter Waweru, Ndeiya resident.
