Former member of parliament for Kathiani Wavinya Ndeti has appealed to the national government to intervene and repair Thwake bridge that connects Kathiani and Kangundo sub-counties.
Ndeti was speaking in Kathiani town where she addressed journalists on Thursday where she said that the problem has caused residents transport nightmare especially the business people.
"Residents from both sub-counties are suffering especially those families residing in Kangundo and whose loved ones are admitted at Kathiani Hospital where they are forced to travel to Machakos town through Mwala sub-county and connect again to Kathiani same to businesspeople who have said is expensive and time-consuming," said Ndeti.
She said that the county government of Machakos has turned a blind eye to the problem where it has not shown any signs of wanting to repair the bridge claiming the project belongs to the national government. She advised Machakos county residents to vote wisely in order to get the desirable leaders who act more than they say.
