She said that no decision has been made regarding speculation of a merger of the party with Jubilee Alliance affiliate parties.

Speaking at a press conference outside the party's offices in Machakos town, Wavinya said that the members of CCU have not discussed anything of the sort and therefore, termed the speculation as allegations from competing political parties.

"Kiraitu Murungu, the Senator of Meru County is the one who started the rumours, and him not being a member of CCU, it is a wonder where he got such baseless information," said Ndeti.

Ndeti's stand was further supported by the party's spokesman, Philip Isaja who said the Meru Senator had no right to speak on behalf of a party he didn't belong to.

The two said that CCU was an independent party and was not yet ready to merge into any political party alliance.

Ndeti further clarified that if CCU was to make such a move, the news would come officially from the party members and leaders themselves.
