Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has called upon residents of Machakos to elect her during the upcoming general polls.
According to Ndeti, incumbent governor Alfred Mutua has wasted his term in office engaging in endless wars with Members of the County Assembly( MCAs) and Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka rather than changing the lives of the people of this region.
Speaking on Thursday during the burial of Mutituni MCA Joseph Kalunde, Ndeti pointed out that there is nothing to smile about since Mutua took over power.
She further said that the endless fights between governor, Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala and the MCAs is among the reasons why the county has continued to lag behind when it comes to matters to do with development.
“We have wasted a whole term of five years with nothing but infighting. We are now saying that come August 8, all we want in our county is peace and the only person who can bring that peace is Wavinya Ndeti,” she said, as quoted by the Star.
Wavinya’s statement comes at a time when Kalonzo and other leaders from Wiper are attempting to woo her as they seek to punish Mutua and other defectors during the upcoming general polls.
