Wavinya Ndeti, the chair of Chama Cha Uzalendo political party on Tuesday announced that the party is still independent and has not yet decided which coalition to merge and work with come 2017 general elections.
Speaking in a public meeting in Machakos accompanied by other CCU officials, Wavinya said that those spreading roumers of CCU having joined the Jubilee Alliance are former members of CCU who withdrew to join other parties in Jubilee.
"We as a party have to sit down and agree who to work with because we have to analyze a which party has same ideologies with our party and that is what we are still discussing but we have still not yet made a decision," said Ndeti.
Wavinya said that the claims going around that CCU has merged with Jubilee are baseless and the followers of CCU should not hold on them.
She also dismissed the claims made by a group of politicians from Nakuru who went to court to claim that CCU is their political party.
Wavinya said that the court declared her as the only chair of that party and the secretary general is Phillipe Sadjah and the spokesman David Musau.
Wavinya also said that Jubilee and Cord should stop viewing themselves as the only political organizations and involve other parties in national issues such as the IEBC issues going on currently.
