Wiper Machakos governor hopeful Wavinya Ndeti has welcomed deputy governor Bernard Kiala’s endorsement, saying it is a major boost in her quest to send incumbent Alfred Mutua packing in the coming August 8 polls.

In an interview with the Daily Nation,  Ndeti said that Kiala’s backing is timely,  adding that Mutua should prepare for a humiliating  defeat.

Ndeti said that he will work with Kiala to ensure that residents get good leadership if elected on August 8.

“I am happy by my brother (Kiala) gesture and move to endorse my gubernatorial bid despite the differences we have been having with him,” she said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

 The former Kathiani MP said that a new dawn is coming for Machakos people, adding that governor Mutua will not survive the August 8 political wave.

She said that her agenda if elected till be to fight poverty, create jobs and empower marginalized groups epically women and youth.

On Sunday, Kiala who was contesting for the governor seat as an independent candidate bolted out of the race.

Kiala said that his move is for the interests of Machakos people who he said have suffered as a result of governor Mutua’s alleged poor leadership.

The Machakos deputy governor said that   he will work with Ndeti to oust Mutua and bring new leadership to the county.

The Machakos governor race has been taunted a two horse race between Ndeti and Mutua.

Governor Mutua is seeking re-election on his Maendeleo Chap Chap  (MCC) party and has  dismissed rivals, saying they have no development agenda for the people.
