Ndhiwa MP Agostinho Neto has dismissed claims that he is a Jubilee Party mole, days after he lost the ODM Party ticket to defend his seat ahead of the August polls.

In an interview with The Daily Nation on Tuesday, Neto further defended his tenure as lawmaker, noting that his leadership had overseen meaningful development in the constituency.

“I have opened several road networks in the constituency and awarded thousands of students’ bursaries to have them get education,” he said.

“Aspirants accusing me of being close to Jubilee government are desperate because they have no agenda for the constituents,” he added.

The legislator was trounced by Mr Martin Owino during the ODM Party primaries, but has since vowed to appear on the ballot as an independent candidate.

Mr Owino, a public health specialist has expressed confidence of winning the seat, pledging effective representation of the constituents if elected.
