The government of Kenya has issued a response to David Ndii following his remarks on Thursday where he stated National Super Alliance (NASA) is prepared to take 'mass action'.
During a press statement at the KICC, government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe spoke to the idea of secession which would see Kenya divided into Jubilee and NASA regions.
According to reports an online petition is currently being signed with the hopes of reaching the African Union's judicial branch African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights.
"As a government, we have no intention or obligation of engaging political activists. They have their opinions but where they threaten security, security forces will be watching. As far as entitlement to your ideas is concerned, you can even decide to migrate and go to Somalia," he said as reported by the Daily Nation.
He went on to assure that the government will not condone any actions that could cause instability within the country.
David Ndii spoke during an interview on NTV earlier this week and said that Kenyans feel as if their political rights had been ignored thus warning the government that people would act.
“We will call for mass action. That is a definite. We have been calling for mass action since 1991 and we will not stop as long as some people try to restore dictatorship,” he stated.
